Cathleen Mullarkey-DeSapio, MD, FACP, FACE, is an endocrinology, diabetes, and thyroid specialist at Princeton Endocrinology Associates in Princeton, New Jersey. Dr. Mullarkey received her BS from the Stony Brook State University of New York, graduating with High Honors. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston in 1984, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

She completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 1987 and her fellowship in Endocrinology, and Metabolism
at Albert Einstein University Medical Center in New York City in 1990, working with internationally known Diabetes researchers. She has practiced clinical and academic endocrinology in New Jersey for over 30 years, has participated in clinical research, and has been actively involved in teaching as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rutgers School of Medicine since 2001. She also helped develop and served as the medical director of the Diabetes Center at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, New Jersey for over a decade.

Dr. Mullarkey has been a frequently invited speaker, locally and nationally, for the medical professional community and patient population throughout her career and has published
several scholarly articles and co-authored a chapter in a major Diabetes textbook. She has received numerous awards and honors including the National Quality Assurance Award from the American Diabetes Association, and the NJ Monthly Magazine Top Doctor Award in Endocrinology for ten continuous years. She completed her American Association of
Clinical Endocrinology training for Thyroid Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided FNA biopsy and is pursuing the Endocrine Certified Neck Ultrasound Recognition Award from the American Institute of Ultrasound, and Board Certification in Obesity Management.

Dr. Mullarkey is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and the American College of Physicians, and a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society, and the American Thyroid Association. She has extensive clinical experience in all areas of endocrinology, including diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, calcium metabolic disorders, polycystic ovarian disease, adrenal and pituitary disease, and the management of endocrine disorders during pregnancy.
